Today’s higher standard of living has caused our dependence on an electrically driven infrastructure and products that use petroleum, coal and other nonrenewable materials as a feedstock. In the past decades, we have developed chemical and engineering processes for a wide variety of applications and chemicals that have given humankind a higher quality of life and an unprecedented standard of living. However, this has exacted a price of pollution and environmental degradation. Nonscientists are sometimes prone to chemophobia, inclined to avoid all chemicals at any cost. To do so, of course, would be to avoid food, air, water, and all other substances. Obviously, this is impossible to do. On the other hand, the enlightened use of chemistry, engineering, and using renewable alternatives can provide applications that can benefit society and environmental quality.

Renewable Alternatives is a company dedicated to the research and development of new products made from renewable materials. A growing society cannot depend upon continuous use from unsustainable raw materials. We are seeking new uses for products that are produced from fats and oils as the raw materials and more energy efficient ways to use old and new technology. At the same time we are searching to accomplish this goal with products that are environmentally friendly, perform better, have no toxicity, and are less expensive.
